NURSERY EVENTS, FULL DAY COURSES, PLANT FAIRS AND SHOWS 2008

We are willing to bring along orders of plants for collection at these events provided that we are given plenty of notice beforehand, 3 days with one day/weekend events, but at least 5 days with the flower shows.

Building upon the success of Nursery Events organised here last year, with the collaboration of the Royal Horticultural Society we are very pleased to announce that once again we will be hosting seven events this during 2008.

HCN & RHS Nursery Events will commence each day at 1.00pm at Sawley Village Hall with coffee or tea followed by a presentation by Peter or John Foley using live plants and slides followed by time for questions.

Peter is well known on BBC Radio Lancashire as a member of the ‘phone-in’ gardening team and also a tutor at Alston Hall College. He welcomes those present to bring along any specimens of plants, insect or disease damage for identification on the day.

We then move on to the nursery for a walk around the beds looking at plants topical to that day’s event together with a practical demonstration and time for further questions to be answered. This is followed by tea and scones and then time to browse the sales beds with a 10% sales discount on the day offered to those at the event.
